Amous Clayton, age 95, of Kensett, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Born on June 1, 1920 in Wolf Bayou, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Grover Clayton and Ethel Sagers Clayton.

Amous was a loving son, husband, brother and father. He was a United States Army Veteran and his religious belief was non-denominational.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elsie Higgs Clayton, a daughter Patsy Lewis, his seven siblings and one grandchild.

He is survived by his children Carolyn Turpin and her husband Kenny of El Paso, Arkansas, Danny Clayton and his wife Kina of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Susan King and her husband Alan of Pangburn, Arkansas, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Clayton is also survived by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Olmstead Funeral Home with Funeral Services being held at 10:00am on Friday, June 3, 2016 with Rev. Samuel Wildmon and Rev. Kenneth Rolland, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Magness Cemetery. Pallbearers will be ANdrew Haggard, COree Bradley, Paul King, Derick King, Dale Love and Wendy FIsher. Honorary Pallbearers will be Henry Clayton, Richard Clayton and Rick Long.
