Born at Wolf Bayou,Arkansas on October 2,1924, he was the son of the late Grover and Ethel (Sagers)Clayton. A lifetime resident of Cleburne County, Ervin was a retired minister who started in the ministry at age 15. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Ethel; one brother, Cecil Clayton; and one sister, Erma Dean (Clayton) Haywood.
He is survived by two brothers; Amos Clayton of Kensett and J.C. Clayton of Wilburn;two sisters, Wencil(Clayton) Stokes and Louise (Clayton) Hall, both of Kensett; special friend, Ruby Reeves; and nieces and nephews. Ervin is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
