Ella Baird Gilpin, 86, Fort Wayne, died at the Covington Manor Nursing Center there at 8 a.m. today. She had been ill for several months.
A Kokomo resident for many years, she belonged to the Kokomo American Legion Auxiliary.
Born in Frankfort on October 26, 1893, she was the daughter of Oscar and Ella (Denison) Baird. On April 15, 1920, she married Roy L. Gilpin. He died on September 10, 1953.
A brother, Merton Baird of Fort Wayne survives her.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Goodwin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery.
