Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, under the direction of
Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. Fontenot, 93, of Oakdale entered eternal rest on Friday, May 13, 2016 in Allen Oaks Nursing Home of Oakdale.
She had a great love for writing and poetry. One of her poems was selected for the National Poetry Register.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felder and Bertha Brabham; four brothers and two sisters.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of sixty-three years, Iland Fontenot, of Oakdale; one son, Thompson "Thompy" Palmer and wife, Mary, of Pineville; one daughter, Mary Linda Palmer, of Columbus, OH.; one sister, Loretta Faulk, of Alexandria; five grandchildren, Keith Biedenharn, Rebecca Cressy, Denny English, Jaclyn McDaniel and Paul Kilgore and six great-grandchildren, Micah, Henry, Alex, David Hudson, Tyler and Adison.
