Moorefield owned and operated Tesh’s Cabinet Shop for many years and was a member of Shining Light Baptist Church. He was also ordained into the gospel ministry, and he enjoyed sharing the Good News of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Rachel Hall Tesh of the home; a son-in-law, Randy Montgomery of Mount Airy; two special granddaughters, Heather Montgomery and Jessica Childress and her husband, Tyler, all of Mount Airy; a special great-granddaughter, Ava Goodwin of Mount Airy; a special expectant great-grandchild, Owen Thomas Childress, due in July; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, the Rev. Tesh was preceded in death by a loving and devoted daughter, Jacqueline Annette “Jackie” Tesh Montgomery; seven sisters, Ruth Tesh, Pauline Burch, Ida Mae Tesh, Betty Louise Scott, Martha Moorefield, Blanche Hawks, and Ethel Hall; and three brothers, Ray James Tesh, David Franklin Tesh, and John Henry Tesh.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Shining Light Baptist Church, with the Rev. Elmo Hiatt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the funeral service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
