At the time of the sale of the 300-acre John & Tabitha Thompson property in 1805, two graves were then located in the "Thompson graveyard". The land these graves occupied were "excepted from the deed" when Tabitha & four of her five children sold off the property and left Wilkes Co., GA.
Older sister Ann Thompson died 1808 AFTER the sale of the former 300-acre Thompson property. Although some family trees reference "Catherine Thompson married a Jones", no records of any kind have been located to verify this. The lack of any inclusion of Catherine Thompson in the 1805 records or in the 1810 final settlement of the estate & will of Winnifret Thompson provides very strong evidence that she is indeed the second of the two graves and is buried with her father John Thompson.
