Funeral Services for Clifford “Pistol” Barrick, 90, Arapaho resident was Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Clinton’s First Baptist Church officiated by Dwight Shephard and Vann Leonard . Burial was in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Clifford Vest “Pistol” Barrick was born January 6, 1926 to Clyde Vest Barrick and Ethel (Dunn) Barrick in Stafford, Oklahoma and passed away early Friday, April 15, 2016 in the Clinton Veterans Center in Clinton, Oklahoma.

“Pistol” as he is known by family and friends was raised in Stafford where he attended school. His father died at a young age and “Pistol” had to help his mother on the farm. He joined the U.S. Navy on May 30, 1944 and served during WWII. He received his honorable discharge in May of 1946 at the rank of Seaman First Class.

He married Jo Ann Shephard on September 21, 1947 in Arapaho. They farmed and ranched in Arapaho most of their married life, a brief time the family moved to Missouri to farm, but returned back to Arapaho. He also worked for the Mid-West Farmers Coop in Clinton for about 10 years. Jo-Ann preceded him in death in 2010 and he continued his farming operation until recent. He has been in the Clinton Veterans Center for the past four months.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jo Ann, two brothers, Clyde Barrick, Randall Barrick and two sisters, Selma Williams and Lois Johnson and two granddaughters, twins Dasha and Tasha.

He is a member of the Arapaho Baptist Church; he was an avid sports fan especially if his grandchildren were playing; he enjoyed doing leather work and playing cards and Dominoes. His passion was his family and being with them.

He is survived by three daughters, Kathy Cornell and husband, Pat, Clinton, Rebecca J. Haggard and husband, Bobby, Clinton, Sherry Staggs, Arapaho and two sons, Jeff Barrick and wife, Debbie, Arapaho and Brad Barrick and wife, Gaye, Clinton; Brother in law, Billy Mack Shephard and wife, Shirley, Arapaho and Sister in law, Bess Shephard, of Arapaho.

He is also survived by 10- grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two on the way and one great-great-grandchild.
