Bertha Staggs, 86, of Atkins, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Atkins Nursing Center. She was born February 29, 1930, at Holly Bend Community, (Pope County), Arkansas, daughter of the late Tom and Alice Hunnicutt Birge.
She was retired from Tyson Foods, and loved bingo and church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Staggs, son, Emmet Hale and her siblings.

She is survived by her children, Willis A. Staggs and wife Doylene of Atkins, Rickey Staggs and wife Vicki of Knoxville, Vickey Bryant and husband Blake of Atkins, Kathy Andrus and husband Bob of London, Phyllis Hopson of Russellville; and numerous grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Graveside Service and burial will be 10:00 am, Monday, March 7, at Atkins City Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Birge officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday, March 6.
Pallbearers will be Chris Gray, Brian Moudy, Adam Staggs, Andrew Krocker, Joseph Staggs, Nathan Hale, Brad Staggs and Chad Staggs. Honorary pallbearers are Eric French, Owen Jones, Dustain Peeks, Robert Andrus, Aaron Deal, Will Bryant, Wesley Littlejohn, Brenden Staggs, Daniel Poteete and Dustin Poteete.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sandra Moore and the nurses and staff of Atkins Nursing Center.
