The daughter of Tom and Alice Hunnicutt Birge, she was born October 26, 1926 in Russellville.
She married Ed Jones on February 2, 1946 at Russellville, Arkansas.
Viola worked at the International Shoe Company in the fitting department and later at Val Mac Industries.
She was a member of Damascus Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by by her parents, and 2 sisters, Sybil Tucker and Dorothy Dixon, and 2 brothers, Cecil Birge and Johnny Birge.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Jones, of Russellville; a daughter, Sharon Satterfield of Russellville; two sons, Gary Jones of Dover, Eddie Jones of Russellville; four grandchildren, Lisa Garrison of Russellville, Peyton Walker of Joshua, Kelli McCurrie of Russellville, Jeff Satterfield of Russellville; six great grandchildren, Kami and Tyler McCurrie of Russellville, Brennan Satterfield of Russellville, Kaycee and Amber Garrison of Russellville; Jacob Walker of Joshua; two brothers, Archie Birge of Russellville, Bill Birge of Russellville; three sisters, Rheba Williams of Russellville, Pauline Whiteside of Russellville, Bertha Staggs of Russellville.
Viola's funeral was held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at the Humphrey Chapel officiated by Rev. Jackie Brewer and Rev. Wilma Whorton and Rev. James Chisum.
Burial was in the OPEN BIBLE SECTION of Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
