After graduating from high school, Ken joined the army and was sent to Korea. The war was over, but the army still maintained a base there. Ken was stationed there for a few years. When he returned, he lost his leg in a motorcycle leg in accident. He remained a dependent of the military for the rest of his life. He did work for different companies as well.
