Risden was born Aug. 17, 1920, in Haslet, to Arthur D. and Esther Barksdale. He had retired from the Post Office after 30 years of service as a letter carrier. He served his country during World War II.
He lived a life for his church and his kids of all ages. He enjoyed working in the Bible school and anything else he could do to teach children of the Lord. He will truly be missed.
Survivors: Wife of 62 years, Margaret, of Fort Worth; son, Jimmy of Pittsburgh, Pa.; daughters, Sue Cordova and Kathy Dacus, both of Fort Worth; brothers, Emmitt Barksdale of Amarillo, Lloyd Barksdale of Justin, Melvin Barksdale of Fort Worth, James Barksdale of Denton; sisters, Moline Whittington of Justin, Delores Graham of Azle; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren he truly loved and adored.
