Floyd and his brother, Herb owned and operated Dropps Brother Construction Co. He later worked for Hawkinson Construction Co. as a heavy equipment operator.
Floyd served in the US Marine Corps during WWII from 1943 to 1947. He was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He also witnessed the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima. Floyd became a life member of the American Legion in 2007 and in 2012, he flew with the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. accompanied by his daughter, Judy.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Viola Olds; and daughters: Ruthie and Sharon. His brother, Herb died February 9, 2016, 3 days after Floyd.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Rosemary; sister, Doris Hansen; children, Judy (Mike) Magness, Floyd Jr. (Cheryle) Dropps, Darlene (Delmer) Hardy, and Frank (Ann) Dropps; eight grandchildren; two great grandsons; many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Macville Cemetery, Macville Township, MN
