Sharon Amy Dropps, 48, Grand Rapids, died March 11, 2008, at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital.

She was born in 1960 to Floyd and Rosemary Dropps in Aitkin. She grew up and attended schools in Hill City, graduating from Hill City High School in 1978. She later received an LPN degree from Itasca Community College and Bemidji State University in 1990. While attending college, Sharon would often stay up all night typing papers so she could spend more time with her daughter, Laura. She was an avid reader who especially enjoyed mystery novels and was very crafty, making evergreen wreaths every Christmas. Sharon liked music - especially artists like Bette Midler - and watching movies, especially movies with Michael Douglas in them. She was a natural caregiver and was always willing to help those in need.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Fri., March 14, at the Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be Sat., March 15, at 11 a.m. at the Hill City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Russell Christensen officiating. Burial will be in Macville Cemetery, Macville Township, Minnesota.

She is survived by her best friend and partner, El Langan, Grand Rapids; daughter, Laura (Jenn Hise) of Bagley; parents, Floyd and Rosemary Dropps, Hill City; sisters, Judy (Erling) Comstock, Bemidji; and Darlene (Jim) Kersting, Merrifield; brothers, Floyd, Jr. (Cheryle) Dropps, Crystal Falls, Mich.; and Frank (Ann) Dropps, Maple Grove; eight nieces and nephews and one great-niece. Preceding her in death were her maternal and paternal grandparents and her sister Ruthie Dropps in 1967.

Arrangements are with Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids.
