Herbert M Dropps, age 87, of Hill City, MN, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his home.

Herb was born in 1928 to Mike and Muriel Dropps in Sauk Rapids, MN and he grew up and attended school in Swatara/Shovel Lake area.

Herb owned and operated Dropps Brother Construction Co. with his brother, Floyd. He was also a road grader for Aitkin County Highway Department for over 25 years.
Herb was united in marriage to Barbara Nelson on May 3, 1975. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and matching quarters.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Viola Olds; brother, Floyd Dropps Sr.; grandchildren, Stephen Dropps, Richard Nelson, Barry Nelson, and Douglas Dorn; and great granddaughter, Kaylin Johnson.

Herb is survived by his wife, Barbara; six daughters, Linda Kaz, Linda Karnes, Melody Dagle, Sheila Dorn, Lori Smoley and Deb Mickelson; five sons, Rick Nelson, Steve Nelson, Daryl Nelson, Rick Dropps and Mike Dropps; one sister, Doris Hansen; 32 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Macville Cemetery, Macville Township, MN.
