L. Pauline Goldsby, 90, of Kuttawa, Kentucky, formerly of Gilman, IL., died 1:10 P.M., Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at her home in Kuttawa, KY.


Pauline was born March 25, 1925 in DelRey, IL., to Charles A. and Iva C. (Fry) Chase. She attended schools in Onarga and Gilman, IL.

Her first marriage was to LeRoy V. Pence "Painter" on July 28, 1940. LeRoy passed on November 12, 1976. Her second marriage was to Kenneth R. Goldsby on June 14, 1970. August 18, 1978 Kenneth passed on.


Surviving are daughters Marilyn J. (Jim) Schroeder of Gilman and Candice (Bill) Howard of Kuttawa, KY.
Also surviving are ten grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, daughter - Diane E. Pence Barnes of Janesville, WI. son - Jack E. Pence of Gilman, grandson - Gary Lee Schroeder of Gilman., siblings, Hazel Fordyce, Fern Burke, Robert E. Chase, Virginia Pree, Donald A. Chase, Mary Louise Harrison, Betty O'Lena and two brothers Orville and Harold died in infancy.
Pauline was an active member of the Gilman United Methodist Church, Women's Club, Senior Citizens group and the Gilman Red Hat Society. She was employed over the years by the Sagar Glove Factory, the Gilman Dress Factory as a seamstress, K & H Truck Plaza as a cashier/ bookkeeper. Retirement came in 2002 from the Gilman-Danforth Library. Pauline enjoyed traveling, reading, dancing, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and friends.
