Wood, Mary Frances Cheatham, 99, of Louisville, passed away at the Episcopal Church Home on Monday, December 7, 2015, 20 days before her 100th birthday. Mary Frances was born on December 27, 1915 in Chaplin, KY to the late Sue Moores Cheatham and William Perry Cheatham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Madison Wood; her son, Donald R. Wood, who passed away in May 2015; her sisters, Dorothy Wigginton and Emily Davenport; and her brother, William Perry Cheatham, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Maida Gabbert Wood; grandson, Clarke Wood (Gretchen); granddaughter, Amy Wood Harwell (Raleigh); and four wonderful great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Stephens; brother, Alan Cheatham; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mary Frances was a department manager at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kentucky for many years. She was also a lifelong member of Beargrass Christian Church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The family would like to thank the staff of The Episcopal Church Home and the dedicated Hosparus workers who have cared for Mary Frances these last several years.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday December 12, 2015, Beargrass Christian Church, 4100 Shelbyville Road, with burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
