He was united in marriage to Susannah Upp on Jan. 3, 1873. To this union ten children were born, five of who have passed to the great beyond. The five children living are Robert A. Billups, Dora B. Rohwedder, Patsy M. Billups, William E. Billups, and George R. Billups.
He also leaves his wife, one sister, four brothers, and 17 grandchildren.
