Melba Marceaux Bonin

Coteau Holmes - Services for Mrs. Edlas Bonin, 68, the former Melba Marceaux will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Eddapaddy officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home in St. Martinville, which will re-open Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Gueydan and a resident of Bayou Portage, Mrs. Bonin died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at a Lafayette Hospital.

She is survived by three sons, Ernest LeBoeuf of Haynesville, Floyd Marceaux and Nolan James Bonin, both of New Iberia; three daughters, Eugenia Bonin Broussard, Florence Bonin and Laurice Bonin Walker all of New Iberia; three sisters, Eva Rose Marceaux Smith of St. Martinville, Laura Marceaux Adams and Oura Marceaux Smith, both of Loreauville, LA; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Bonin was preceded in death by her husband Edlas Bonin; her parents, Eli and Marie Touqchette Marceaux; three brothers, Alvin, Asa and Nolan Marceaux and one sister Mary Marceaux Smith.

Pallbearers will be Ernest LeBoeuf, Nolan Bonin, Floyd Marceaux, William Daigle, Jr., Cory Walker and Shogun Broussard.

Evangeline Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements
