Sophronia Ward Brown is the daughter of Nathaniel C. Brown and Clarissa Carter. Sophronia married Edward Carter Cox of Edmunds on 13 May 1868. Edward and Sophronia had six children: John Edward Cox, Nathaniel Brown Cox, twins Alvin Hall Cox & Alvery Wilmer Cox, George Loring Cox, and Abisha Hallowell Cox. Sophronia and Edward lived on Shore Road in Edmunds on a hill overlooking Denys River & Whiting Bay, and across the street from Lower Edmunds Cemetery (aka South Edmunds Cemetery).
