He was a proud veteran of the Korean War.
He was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Greenelawn Baptist Church and V.F.W. Post No. 1990. Fred was a longtime UKC Coonhound Association Judge.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years: Rosa Lee Ashley, who died October 3, 2014; two daughters: Karen Mysinger and Pamela Kay Ashley; parents: George W. and Lida Ashley; seven brothers: John, Albert, Jack, Claude, Paul, Norman, and Tom Ashley; one sister: Georgia Mae Ashley Seay.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2015, at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Weatherly will officiate. The Greene County Honor Guard will convey military honors. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
There will be no formal visitation.
