WILLIAM EDWARD QUINNEY (1947-2015)
William Edward “Will” Quinney, 68, of Gonzales, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015. He was born July 14, 1947, in Stockdale, the son of Steve and Johnie Dixon Quinney.

Will married Johnnie Lee Rhoades on Sept. 20, 1969, in Leesville. He was a member of the Memorial Heights Baptist Church. Most of his life Will was involved with the oil industry. He was a lead operator on an open hole wireline truck for Dresser-Atlas for 17 years, manager of Specialty Tool Service, and salesman for Boyd Rental, all in Victoria. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and vegetable gardening. Most of all he loved time spent with his loving family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Will was preceded in death by his parents; sister Anna Adams; and brother Benny Quinney.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Johnnie Quinney of Gonzales; sons Dwayne Quinney of Gonzales, Dallas Quinney and wife Celena of Victoria, and Jay Quinney and wife Karen of Yoakum; brothers Robert Quinney and wife Joyce Nell and Marvin Quinney and wife Alene, all of Stockdale; and grandchildren Payton William, Clayton Edward, Kylie Rose, William Joseph, Amber Lynne, Todd Edward, and Charlotte Ann Quinney.

Visitation was held Friday, Nov. 20, from 5-7 p.m. in the Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Memorial Heights Baptist Church in Gonzales, officiated by the Rev. Clint Lowery.

Interment followed in the Caraway Cemetery in Leesville.

Serving as pallbearers were William Petre, Lonnie Quinney, Lorne Dale Barta, Ricky Lester, Nathan Gordon Jr., and Steve Hellinger.
