In Memory of...

Terrell Franklin "T.F." Hardy, 96, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church of Perry, Music Ministry or Youth Ministry (donor's choice), 1105 Main Street, Perry, GA 31069 or to a charity of the donor's choice in memory of Mr. Hardy.

T. F. was born in Zenith, Georgia, to the late Thomas Franklin and Bertha Bryant Hardy. He worked in the lumber business with his father for several years before joining the U.S. Army. He proudly served our country during World War II in the 3rd Army, 11th Armored Division, 21st Armored Infantry Battalion, Company B.

When he returned home, T.F. went to work for Andrew Hardware, where he fell in love with tools and mending, lumber and construction, and everything else that you would find in a hardware store those days. He took a job at Edwards-Harper in downtown Perry for a brief period, before accepting a position with Tolleson Supply, where he would continue to work for 40 years and then retire. At Tolleson Supply, T.F. was a valued employee who knew everything about every bit of inventory there and where each piece was located when customers came in asking for specific items.

Through the years, he was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the Perry Area Historical Society. While it was active in Perry, he was a member of the Civitan Club. T.F. was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Perry and the Barnabas Sunday School Class and was an usher at the church for many years. When the Georgia National Fair came to Perry, he applied and was accepted to be one of the first Faircrackers, and continued to be one every year, excluding 2012, the year his wife passed away, and this year, due to illness. T.F. was so proud of his children and his grandchildren, and treasured each opportunity to spend time with them.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Agnes Lawrence Hardy; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish the memories of T.F. are his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Mary Hardy of Athens; his daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Frank Tolbert of Warner Robins; his grandchildren, Ben Tolbert of Santa Monica, California, and Melissa Tolbert of Decatur; and numerous nieces and nephews.
