Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park with the Rev. Larry Cook officiating.
Mr. Hardy, son of the late Thomas Frankling Hardy and Bertha Bryant Hardy, was born in Zenith. He was a retired refrigerator engineer for Mrs. Filbert's. He was an avid gardener and he loved wood working. Mr. Hardy also enjoyed hunting and fishing and had been a member of the Circle S. Hunting Club for 37 years. He was strong in his faith and was a beloved member of Harvest Baptist Church in Eatonton. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Elizabeth H. Hardy; three sisters; three brothers; children, David Hardy and Robert G. Hardy, Jr.; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Zelma P. Hardy of Milledgeville, two sons, Gene Hardy and wife Marcia of Hawkinsville and Cliff Hardy and wife Joy of Lake Sinclair; a daughter, Carlo Bell and husband William of Lizella; a daughter-in-law, Carole Hardy of Macon; a brother, T.F. Hardy and wife Agnes of Perry; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harvest Baptist Church, 642 Old Phoenix Road, Eatonton, Ga., 31024 or to Heartland Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, Ga., 31210. Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of arrangements.
