Cissy Auten Polk passed away on October 24, 2015 at the age of 43. Cissy is survived by her father Tony Auten of Belmont; husband Travis Polk of Belmont; Brothers Marty Pagoota of Dallas NC and wife Janice, Chuck Pagoota of Dallas and wife Alma, Andy Pagoota of Shelby and wife Amy, Tony Auten Jr of Rock Hill and wife Rhoda; Sister Sherry Knight of Belmont. She is preceded in death by her mother Ann Belk Auten.
Cissy was born on August 1, 1972 in Charlotte, NC to parents Tony and Ann Auten. She graduated from South Point High School in 1991. She married the love of her life Travis Polk March 20, 2004.
Cissy was happiest in the kitchen cooking and hosting many holidays and parties for her entire family. She was a lovable, kindhearted, truly one of a kind individual who loved collecting Barbies, I Love Lucy, The Golden Girls, Food network, attending pro wrestling shows, going to concerts and buying anything that was As Seen on TV. She loved to watch any kind of movies, especially musicals and she loved her two dogs Jack and JoJo. She had no children but was worlds best babysitter to many. For over 25 years nieces and nephews and cousins found their way into Cissy's arms. The latest one being her little "chickadee" Rae Ann. She enjoyed her times with her "pretty girl" Haley who would bring her Starbucks anytime she wanted it. She loved talking on the phone whether it be to her cousin Carlene or to cousin Stephanie on her way home from work. She loved the special requests she would get for her food whether it be nephew Brad wanting buffalo chicken pizza or nieces Pam and Amanda wanting chocolate fudge pies. She played an important part to her extended Polk family, Mark, Cathy, Brian, Jenae, Jer, Lisa (sister) Makayla and Laney. She had special relationships with her cousins Lisa and Jamie and with everyone who knew her. She made many memories with her best friend and sister of over 30 years Sherry. She loved the holidays and the family get togethers and she loved how all the aunts and uncles would decorate the street with Christmas lights every year. She touched the lives of every one of her nieces and nephews. She was always smiling and never complained about anything. Any story about Cissy was a good story. Anyone Cissy met she received with a big smile and a warm welcome. With Cissy Auten Polk a part of it, the world was alot brighter.

The family plans to scatter her ashes around the lighthouse at Cape Hatteras, NC and the pier at Garden City, SC as Cissy wanted.
