In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ann Belk Auten, a daughter, Patricia Auten Polk, a stepson, Marty Pagoota, brothers Timmy Auten and Dickie Auten. Like his father, he was a lifelong painter with a genuine passion for making a home something to be proud of. He considered each home or office he painted his canvas and never left a job site until a customer was happy.
Tony is survived by his son, Tony Ray Auten Jr. and wife Rhoda of Rock Hill, SC two stepsons, Chuck Pagoota and wife Alma of Dallas, NC, Andy Pagoota and wife Amy of Shelby, NC, two sisters Susie Cook and husband Gene of Belmont, NC, and Shelia Shuler and husband Joe of Belmont, two brothers, James (Bobo) Auten of Mt. Holly, NC and Terry Auten.
