Curtis Martin "Marty" Pagoota, loving husband, father and proud grandfather, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 in Gastonia at the age of 61.

Marty was born November 23, 1956 in Charlotte, NC to Charlie Pagoota Sr. and Ann Belk (Pagoota) Auten. He loved his country and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was the owner of Affordable Painting and Wallpaper and most recently employed by Gaston Family Health Services.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Auten Polk and a daughter Cynthia Christine Pagoota.

Marty is survived by his wife Janice, sons Curtis Chad Morgan (Shannon), Christopher Martin Pagoota (Sybil), Michael Alan White (Elizabeth) and Bradley Pagoota, one daughter, Holly Sapienza (James), three brothers, Charlie Pagoota Jr. and wife Alma of Dallas., Andy Pagoota and wife Amy of Shelby, Tony Auten Jr. and wife Rhoda of Rock Hill, SC, a stepfather, Tony Auten Sr. of Mt. Holly, grandchildren Chancelor, McKenzie, Hayden, Nathanial, Harmony and Harper.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening October 10, 2018.

The visitation will be at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park.

A celebration of Marty's life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday October 11, 2018 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. The Rev. Kevin Purcell will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly. The staff of Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park is honored to serve the Pagoota family.
