Following a week's illness, Richard Moore, aged 70, of Railroad street, died yesterday afternoon, of a paralyzing stroke. He was a native of Durham, England, but with the exception of four years resided all his life in this country, and about thirty-five years in Parsons. For many years he conducted a grocery business on George avenue, at the stand now occupied by Charles Tremayne, and held a high place in the esteem of the people and his business associates. He was a man who stood for right, and deprecated any tendency to prostitute the principle upon which liberty is founded. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Hazle, at home; Mrs. C. M. Smith and Richard Moore, Jr., of Detroit, Mich. The funeral will be held from the home Friday afternoon and will be private. Interment will be in Hollenback Cemetery.
