John T. Moore
John T. Moore, an old resident of Plains, died suddenly of heart failure at 9 o'clock Thursday night. Deceased was born in the county of Durham, England, May 25, 1825, and came to this country in 1854, locating in Fraliey township, Schuylkill county, where he resided until 1867, when he came to Plains township and located in Mill Creek. He was a mining contractor. He was married in 1847 to Miss Isabelle M. Smiley, who died In September, 1886. Twelve children blessed their union, seven of whom are still living and all but one reside in this vicinity. They are as follows: Mrs. George Adams, of Miner's Mills; Richard Moore, of Parsons; Joseph Moore, of Miner's Mills; Mrs. William Hilbert, of Plains: Mrs. Mrs. John Bath, Shenandoah; Mrs. George Skidmore, Parsons, and Miss Margaret Moore, who resided with her father. Funeral on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment Hollenback cemetery. The body will lie in state on Sunday morning between eleven and twelve o'clock and can be seen by friends. After 12 only the immediate families and friends will be allowed to view the body.
