Shirley Anderson, 91
Shirley Anderson, age 91, died peacefully in her sleep on June 29, 2015 at Galeon Nursing Home in Osakis.
Shirley is survived by her children, Barbara (Russ) Aaberg, Linda (Gerry) Sibell, Alan Anderson, and Lori (Kevin) Toenyan; her grandchildren, Dawn (Brent) Juntunen, Mickey (Jean) Sibell, Chris (Robin Scheppy) Sibell, Kelly (Tom) Beerheide, Scott (Amanda) Henrikson, Krystal (Donovan) Schoniger, Sara (Dave Schlangen) Anderson, Shayla (Kevin) Kelps, Derek Anderson, Darrin (Becky) Hensley, Kari (John) Kraemer, Christa (Randy) Thompson; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Everett Anderson, who died on her birthday in 2013; her son, Dennis Anderson; her parents; and five siblings, Orville, Charles, Merlin, Luella and Marcella.
Shirley was born April 30, 1924 in Sauk Centre to Charles and Inga Magnuson. She attended school in Sauk Centre.
Shirley married Everett Anderson on February 27, 1943. The couple was blessed with five children. Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family, home, and Lord. She enjoyed playing the piano, bingo, and cards. She will always be remembered by those who loved her.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 14 at 1 p.m. at Osakis Lutheran Church. The Rev. Fitzer will officiate. After the inurnment at Evergreen Cemetery, a reception at the church will be held to celebrate Shirley's life.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at West View Assisted Living and Galeon Nursing Home for the loving care their mother received at both places.
Special thanks also to the Osakis Lutheran Church women who remembered her during her stay at West View and also assisted with the reception after the service.
The thoughts and prayers of all have been greatly appreciated.
