Surviving him are his widow, Arveeda Grimes Fipps; four daughters, Mrs. Rosa Lee Yarbourgh and Miss Cathy Fipps, both of Bradford County; Mrs. Grace Harper, Georgetown, S.C., and Mrs. Virgie Mae Drawty, of Brooker; three sons, Johnny R. and Irving Fipps, both of Bradford County; William L. Fipps of Alachua; two brothers, Elbert Fipps, Cordele, Ga., and Harvey Fipps, Jacksonville; five sisters, Mrs. Annie Grimes, Cordele, ga., Mrs. Zona Douglas, Lake Butler, Mrs Leona Darling, Maysville, N.C., and two sisters living in Mullins, N.C.; also surviving are 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Pine Level Baptist Church with Rev. Donald L. Ramsey officiating. Interment was in Dedan Cemetery with DeWitt C. Jones Funeral Home in Charge.
