Arveeda Grimes Darling, a former longtime resident of Starke, died Wednesday at her residence in Spanish Fort, Ala. She was 81.

Mrs. Darling was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairhope, Ala.
Survivors include daughters Catha Owen of Spanish Fort and Virgie Marlie of Winston-Salem, N.C.; sons Johnny Fipps of Starke and Irving Fipps of Lake City; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
