The driver of the car, Frank Gerick, 26, rural Donahue, was listed in satisfactory condition with facial cuts at Osteopathic Hospital, Davenport, a hospital spokesman said.
Kraft was driving south about 12:30 a.m. when his truck crossed the center-line on a curve and struck the oncoming car, the spokesman said.
Services for Mr. Kraft will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Runge Chapel. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, where Philbrook Lodge No. 657 will conduct masonic rites.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. Thursday.
He and his wife farmed near Dixon.
He was born in Allen's Grove Township. He married Betty Fahrenkrog in 1951 in Davenport.
He was active in masonic organizations, as a member of Philbrook Lodge 657, master of ceremonies of Mohassan Grotto; a member of Davenport Consistory; of Kaaba Temple Shrine, and of the Royal American Shrine Club.
He belonged to the Walcott Community Club and the Donahue Sportsmen's Club.
He had served 15 years on the Scott County Sheiff's Posse. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Mrs David (Gail) Herzog, Iowa City, Ia. and Kristy, at home; his mother, Melanie Kraft, Davenport; sisters, Mrs Earl (Arabelle) Meyer, Walcott, and Mrs Harlan (Lucille) Kardel, Walcott and a brother, Henry, Dixon.
