JAMES G. SCHOONMAKER, 69, of 646 Oakwood Ave., died yesterday at Community-General Hospital after a short illness.

A native of Fabius, Mr. Schoonmaker resided in Syracuse 30 years. He was a retired carpenter and member of the Carpenters Union, Local 12.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Wells Schoonmaker; a son, William J. Schoonmaker of San Pedro, Calif.; two brothers, Edgar R. of Sarasota, Fla., and Clarence F. Schoonmaker of Fayetteville, and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Greenleaf Funeral Home, 503 W. Onondaga St., the Rev. George L. Earnshaw Jr., pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to the memorial fund of First Baptist Church and the American Heart Association.
