It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Ms. Joyce Marie (Hudson) Price, Saturday, September 26, 2015. She was 75 years old at her death and a long time resident of Moss Point, Ms.
A native of Jackson County, she was born to Mr. James Bryan Hudson & Mrs. N. 'Viola' (Miller) Hudson on March 23, 1940 in Pascagoula, MS. She was the youngest of their five children. Raised in the Catholic faith, she attended Our Lady Of Victories Catholic School and graduated from Pascagoula High School. She married Mr. James 'Cecil' Gibson in 1959 in Pascagoula, Ms. but they divorced in 1961. Together they had a daughter Tanya Gibson. She married Mr. Donald Everett Price in 1964 at the First Baptist Church in Pascagoula and Don Price then legally adopted 'Renee'. They welcomed their son Don, Jr. in September of 1965. The Price family relocated from Mississippi in 1972 where they lived in many different states as well as overseas. Joyce loved to travel and she enjoyed sharing stories of her many trips and adventures. She moved to Pensacola, Fl. in 1987 and later to Cantonement, Fl. where she worked as the warehouse manager for Monsato INC. She returned home to Mississippi in 2007 settling in Moss Point until the time of her death.
She was an animal lover, and avid reader, she enjoyed going to plays and museums, she enjoyed crafting, quilting and basket weaving. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed their many get-togethers and family dinners. Joyce was a beautiful woman with a heart of gold, but she could be stubborn as an old barn mule. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memories are her son & daughter-in-law; Don (Jr.) & Leslie Price of Pascagoula, brother; Ed Hudson of Moss Point, grandsons; Shaun Goodman of Moss Point, Seth Price and Joshua Price both of Pascagoula and Don Price, Port Huron, MI., granddaughters; Cheryl Ann Price of Hurley and Jennifer Price of Port Huron, MI., her great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Shizuko 'Yogi' Hudson of Concord, CA., Annette Hudson of Pascagoula and brother-in-law Tommy Hester Sr. of Escatawpa. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
Greeting her in Heaven are her daughter; Renee 'Nae', parents; Jimmy & Viola Hudson, brothers; J. T. Hudson and Bobby Hudson, sister; "Sis" Hester and sister-in-law; Jackie Hudson.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday September 29, 2015 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. A celebration of her life will begin at 6:30 pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Archie Holley officiating. The will be no graveside service as Ms. Price has chosen to be cremated. Her ashes will be scattered and a memorial marker will be laid with her daughter at her parents grave site.
