Lula Rae Barber Cannon was born to Lonnie Graham Barber and Laura Emma Sparks Barber as their third child of seven living children born. Other siblings were Ernest Lee, Ellis Graham, Fred Wilson, Melvin Reid, Lee Roy, and Margie Helen Barber.

Mrs. Lula Barber Cannon, 64, of Rt 2, Granite Falls, N. C. died early today at Valdese General Hospital.
Mrs. Cannon was born March 24, 1908 and was the daughter of the late Lonnie Graham Barber and Laura Emma Sparks Barber.
She is survived by her husband, John Carl Cannon of the home.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Willie R. Kimberlin (Christine) of Lenoir, Mrs. Ruby Robinson of Connelly Springs, Mrs. Jane Kimberlin and Mrs. Pauline Shields, both of Granite Falls, N.C.; two sons, J. C. and Coy Cannon, both of Granite Falls; one sister, Mrs. Joe Denny of Portsmouth, Va.; brothers, Ellis Graham and Melvin Reid, both of Marion, N.C.; Ernest Lee and Fred Wilson, both of Drexel, N.C., "Lee" Roy of Portsmouth, Va., and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, 2:00 P.M. at Mountain Grove Baptist Church with Rev. George Westmoreland officiating. The body will lie in state 30 min. prior to the services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Members of the family will receive at the Mackie Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.
