Young Wife Is Summoned
Mrs. H.J. Bisby Passes Away Early This Morning.
Pneumonia Complicated With Heart Trouble Is Fatal.
This morning at eight o’clock, Adla Harriet Gilbert Bisby, passed away at her home, 448 Lane street, death being due to pneumonia complicated with organic heart trouble with which she had been troubled for the past four years. A young husband and little son aged four years are left to mourn her loss besides her parents and three brothers and sisters together with a large circle of friends.
Deceased whose maiden name was Adla Harriet Gilbert, was born in Waterloo, July 6, 1883, and was thus only twenty-four years, nine months and two days old when death summoned her. She was the daughter of Frank and Henrietta G. Gilbert who reside at 433 Beech street, and had lived all her life in Waterloo, attending school and making friends wherever she went. She was married in December, 1902, to H.J. Bisby and the six years of their married life have been very happy. Harry, aged four, is their only child.
For the past four years, Mrs. Bisby has been in poor health, organic heart trouble being the cause. Last October her husband took her to the state of Washington, hoping that a change of climate would be beneficial. This seemed to have no effect and six weeks ago they returned home, her condition being practically unchanged. She was taken sick last Friday with pneumonia and in spite of loving care and nursing, she was unable to rally and death came as a gentle relief early this morning.
Besides the bereaved husband and son and parents, there are left to mourn her death, three sisters and three brothers, all of Waterloo, mrs. E.E. Harden, Mrs. Claude Lichty and Mrs. G. Brooks, Joseph, Seth and Edward Gilbert. H.J. Bisby, the husband of the deceased, is manager of City Garment Cleaning Co. opened at 524 LaFayette street a month ago.
Mrs. Bisby was a member of the Lady Maccabees and it is probably that they will have charge of the funeral services. The hour of the funeral has not been announced.
