Daughter of Jacob Franklin Parsons and Alvina (Lisman) Parsons.

Married to Rev. Harris Lester Karns on August 14, 1907. Mother of Robert Charles and Harris Lester Karns as well as one other unknown child that was born and died between 1916 and 1922.

Wife Of Retired Minister Succumbs

Mrs. Abbie Parsons Karns, 77, Sullivan R. 2, passed away early today at Evansville. She was a life-long resident of Sullivan County.

Mrs. Karns was a member of the Dodds Bridge Methodist Church. Her husband, the Rev. H.L. Karns, is a retired Methodist minister.

She attended the former Merom Christian College.

She was the daughter of Jacob F. and Alvina Lisman Parsons, born Oct. 30, 1883.

Surviving besides the husband are one son, Capt. Harris Karns of the United States Air Force, Houston, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Schwartz* (see note below) of Monticello, Ill.; five grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Carrithers Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James Harrel and the Rev. Wayne Largent officiating.

*NOTE: Ruth (Crawford) Schwartz was a foster daughter.

Funeral At Church Not Funeral Home For Mrs. A.P. Karns

Funeral services for Mrs. Abbie Parsons Karns, 77, Sullivan R. 2 , who died Thursday, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Dodds Bridge Methodist Church and not at Carrithers Funeral Home as stated in yesterday's Times.

The body is at the funeral home where friends may call.

Rev. James Harrel and the Rev. Wayne Largent will officiate. Burial will be at Merom Cemetery.
