Ruth Schwartz, 94, formerly of Monticello, IL, died Wednesday at Dupont Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN.

She was born in Centralia, IL to the late Rev. Harris L. & Abbie (Parsons) Karns. She married Edward Schwartz on October 12, 1941 in Graysville, IN.

Surviving are her husband, Edward Schwartz of Leo, IN; a son, David (Ann) Schwartz of Garland, TX; daughters, Julie (Don) Glick of Grabill, IN, Marilyn (Earl) Toops of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Regina Glick Stephenson (Jason) of Newburgh, IN, Rebecca Glick Ward (Paul) of Ft. Wayne, IN, Gwen Toops of Arlington, VA, Emily Toops of Portland, OR, William Schwartz of Garland, TX and Katy Schwartz of Dallas, TX and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harris Karns, III.

Ruth was a homemaker; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Home Extension Club and the Leo United Methodist Church and also a 52 year member of the Monticello United Methodist Church.

Calling will be held on Saturday (March 19, 2016) from 10-11 am with a Celebration of Life Service following at 11 am at the Leo United Methodist Church. Pastor David Heim officiating.

Burial in Ashmore Cemetery, Ashmore, IL at a later time.
