Their children were: Viola Agnes (d. in infancy); Bessie (m. Charles Davis); Anna (m. Frank Holt); Florence (m. Jack Starling and Jim Sellers); Churchill (m. Bertha Watson); Pearl (m. Bob Birkhead); and Theta (m. Artford Freese).
Belle was my gr-gr-aunt.
Lawson Belle Baird was born September 26, 1867, in Laclede Co., Mo.; departed this life at her home in Houston, June 8, 1928, making her age at time of death 60 years, 8 months, and 12 days.
She was married to James E. Wallace November 26, 1885. To this union were born seven children: Viola Agnes, died in infancy; the surviving children are Mrs. Bessie Davis, Houston, Mo.; Mrs. Anna Holt, Springfield, Mo.; Mrs. Florence Starling, St. Louis, Mo.; Churchill Wallace, Carney, Kans.; Pearl and Theta Wallace, of Houston.
She was converted early in life, joined the Baptist church and lived a faithful christian life.
Short services were held at the home and funeral at Central Baptist church at 4 o'clock Saturday, conducted by Rev. H.B. Tillery; burial at that place.
Mrs. Wallace had been in very poor health for a number of months past and her condition was known to be serious for several weeks. Her passing was not unexpected, but it leaves a grief-stricken home. The earnest sympathy of all is with the sorrowing husband and children in the loss of a loving, kind christian wife and mother.
