Mrs. Sarah A. Taylor,
Mrs. Sarah A. Taylor, aged 83 years, passed away at 2:00 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clark E. Gleason, 812 Highland avenue, from complications due to her advanced age.
Mrs. Taylor had been a lifelong resident of New Castle and the oldest living member of the Croton Avenue Methodist Episcopal church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William U. Taylor, six years ago.
She was born in New Castle on August 17, 1851, the daughter of James and Jane Boyles.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Clark E. Gleason; grandson, Norman T. Gleason, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; granddaughter, Mrs. John W. Jessup and great-grandson, Billy Jessup, of Youngstown. Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth G. Taylor, of Pine Ridge, South Dakota, and one brother, William Boyles, of the East Brook Road.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock from the Jos. S. Rice Co. chapel, with Rev. Charles H. Hauger, pastor of the Croton Methodist Epsicopal church, and Dr. Norris A. White, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, in charge. Interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
