Mrs. Mary Bray, age 72 of Bray Creek Road in Manchester, passed away Sunday, Mar. 8th, 2009 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 11th, 1936 in Clay Co., Ky. to the union of Andy & Mae Barrett Byrd. She was a homemaker & a member of the Ell’s Branch Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Raleigh Bray, her children: Calvin Bray & his wife: Loretta “Tootie” of Burning Springs, Alvin Bray & his wife Georgia of Burning Springs, Kathleen Lewis & her husband George of Burning Springs, Myrtus Horton & husband Bobby of Jackson County, Kentucky, Margie Mae Jackson of Burning Springs, & Melvin Bray & wife Gracie of Burning Springs. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren & these brothers & sisters: Alice Hensley of Sextons Creek, Emma Day of Collins Fork, Ada Sester of Sextons Creek, Glenna Jean Ray of Sextons Creek, Rosie Hornsby of Laurel Creek, Jr. Byrd of Sextons Creek, & Betty Byrd of Sextons Creek.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Andy & Mae Byrd, her son: David “Buck” Bray, her daughter: Geraldine Horton, & these brothers & sisters: Estella Ray, Corbet Byrd, Bill Byrd, Ralph Byrd, Bob Byrd, Geneva Bray, & Martha McDaniel.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Bray will be Tuesday, Mar. 10th, 2009 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Bray Family Cemetery in the Bray Creek Community.
