George Washington Holloway was the son of John & Elizabeth "Bettie" (Hudson) Holloway. His grandfather William Holloway immigrated with his three children from England to Culpepper County, Virginia before the Revolutionary War. Both his grandfather William Holloway and his father John Holloway fought in the Revolutionary War.

George Washington Holloway b. 28 Feb 1804 Clark Co. KY; Married Elvira Henton 14 March 1835 Henry Co., KY and lived near New Castle. He died aged 57 years, 7months, 4 days, on 1 Sept 1861 in Harrison Co., MO and is buried near his wife in the Brown Cemetery.
