Tom was born on May 31, 1941 to the late Rev. Issac (Ike) and Nancy A. Carrol Phillips in Shea, TN.
He had lived in the College Corner area for the past 42 years with his wife Bonnie, their children and grandchildren.
Tom really enjoyed spending time with his family especially his wife Bonnie who he loved, laughed with and thought of up until his very last moment. He enjoyed playing guitar, listening to country and bluegrass music, fishing (especially with his grandchildren), working on cars and attending his favorite church, Unity Holiness House of Prayer, in Connersville, where he had donated the windows. Tom also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, kids , family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Kelly Phillips; son Tommy (Yalonda) Phillips of West College Corner, IN; daughter Tammy Phillips and her companion Andrew Crabbs of College Corner, OH; brothers, JC (Lorene) Phillips of Richmond, IN, Rendal (Jackie) Phillips of Fayetteville, NC; sisters, Erma (Mick) Richardson of West College Corner, IN, Della (Charles) Harper of Lafollette, TN and Nancy Faye (Ernie) Szymkowiak of Fayetteville, NC; six grandchildren, Ashley, Isaac, Noah, Serena, and Sophia Phillips and Ethan and Cameron Crabbs; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his loving parents Tom was preceded in death by his son Tony and daughter in law Janet Phillips, brothers, Billy and sister in law Judy, Rondy Dean and an infant brother Rondal.
Toms stories, laughter and big blue eyes will be missed by everyone who loved him.
Funeral services will be conducted at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N Main, Liberty, on Wednesday July 8, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Harold Hale officiating.
Burial will follow at College Corner Cemetery.
Friends and family may visit from 11:00 am until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
