Rondy Dean Phillips, born June 21, 1953, in Shea, Tenn. (Beach Fork), on top of a mountain, behind the Fellowship Baptist Church, to Nancy Carroll Phillips and Isaac Phillips, passed away in his home on Monday, March 25, 2013, after a long battle with poor health.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rondal and Billy.

He is survived by a daughter, Candy and husband, Kevin Bright, and granddaughter, Alexis of San Antonio, Siblings Tom and Bonnie Phillips of College Corner, Ind., J.C. and Lorene Phillips of Richmond, Ind., Rendal and Jackie Phillips of Eastover, Erma and Mick Richardson of College Corner, Della and Walt Harper of Stedman, Nancy and Ernest Szymkowiak of Fayetteville; and many nieces and nephews.

Rondy Dean attended Stoney Fork Elementary School, until his family moved to College Corner, Ohio, where he attended Union High School. He joined the U.S. Army, where he spent four years and received several awards, one as a marksman for his unit. He received a letter of commendation for exceptional performance of duty. On November 17, 1976, he received an honorable discharge from the Army.

Services: Funeral, 3 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Stedman Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg. Visitation, 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Butler Funeral Home, Clinton Road in Stedman.
