"Martha M. Amsberry, daughter of Francis E. and Lucy C. (Beard) Amsberry, was born in Mason County, West Virginia, September 11, 1850 and died November 2, 1928, aged 78 years, 1 month and 21 days. She moved to Custer County, Nebraska with her father's family in 1885 and had resided near Mason City the remaining part of her life. She leaves to mourn her departure three sons; Jesse D. of Portland, Oregon, Bertram L. of Bushnell, Nebraska and Oscar E. of Laramie, Wyoming and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. J. Wynne, Saturday afternoon at the home of Mr. Henry Keller, where she had been making her home, and burial was made in Enon Cemetery west of town."
