"Laura J. Amsberry Fisher, one of 12 children of Francis and Lucy Amsberry, was born January 21st, 1858 and died January 7th at Broken Bow at the age of 93.
She was married to Charles Conway Fisher, September 15th, 1879 in Gallipolis, Ohio. They moved to Nebraska in 1883 where they homesteaded three miles north of Mason City. They made their home there until 1937 when they moved to Broken Bow with their son, Lee.
Born to this union were four children; Mrs. Dora Keller of Riverton, Wyoming, Mrs. Della Smith of Kirkland, Washington, Chester of Costa Mesa, California and Lee of Grass Valley, California.
During the last four years of her life she lived with and was cared for by Mrs. Florence Mattox of Broken Bow. Her husband preceded her in death December 7th, 1940. Survivors are 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and a host of friends.
Out-of-town friends and relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Lee C. Fisher of Grass velly, California; Mr. and Mrs. Ollie McBride and Morton of Ainsworth; Mr. and Mrs. John McBride and family, Brewster; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Amsberry of Alliance; Mr. and Mrs. Milo Brenaman of Alliance; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Keller of Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Keonoke of Riverton, Wyoming; Mr. and Mrs. William Cherry of Landers, Wyoming; Mrs. Henry Keller of Riverton, Wyoming; Mrs. Raymond Fierfiel of Grand Island; and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Keller and daughters of Wood River."
