Pete Enns, 84, died at his home in Ferndale, Wash. Monday, March 18, 2002, following a lengthy illness.
Born June 19, 1917 in Hooker, he grew up on the family farm in Hooker through the difficult dustbowl and depression years.
A longtime member of the Birch Bay Bible Community Church, previously named the Whitehorn Mennonite Brethren Church, since 1948 and he was an employee of the Mr. Baker Plywood Plant for 25 years.
Pete loved God, his family and his many, many friends. He always enjoyed a good laugh, homemade ice cream and making new friends with whomever he encountered.
"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8.
Survivors include his wife, Liesbeth of 53 years; daughters, Maureen Galloway and husband Terry of Woodinville, Wash. and Nadine D'Alessandro and husband Paul of Dallas, TX; grandsons, Ryan Galloway, Brady Galloway and David D'Alessandro; honorary grandsons, Mark, Matthew and Stewart Alway; brothers, Henry Enns of Toutle, Wash. and Ernest and John Enns both of Hooker; sisters, Elizabeth Enns of Liberal, KS and Esther Ediger of Reedley, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 22 at Birch Bay Bible Community Church.
