Aaron Timothy "Tim" Baker, died March 17th at Community South Hospital. He had been in failing health.
He was born on December 6th, 1939. He was preceded in death by his parents, Custer and Jessie (Bartley) Baker, three brothers, Lloyd O. Baker, Sherman V. Baker, and Noel C. Baker, and two sisters, Mary L. Yates and Ramona L. Carter. He is survived by his wife, Vicki, and his sister, Lorene Sloop, and two brothers, John (Marilyn) Baker and Stephen (Kay) Baker; two sons, Thomas Baker and Kim (Wendy) Baker, two step-sons, Jamie (Michele) Haste and Timothy "Tim" Bailey and a step-daughter, Monica Kissner. Also surviving are six grandsons and two granddaughters, along with many nieces and nephews.
Tim attended Union Township High School where he excelled in basketball and baseball for Coach O.J. Sloop's Ramblers. He was a life-long member of Providence Christian Church and was a fifty year member of Union Village Masonic Lodge No. 545 in Providence, Indiana.
Tim's love and passion was farming. He farmed the Indiana Masonic Home farm for the better part of his thirty-seven years of employment there and farmed the family homestead until his health disabled him this past year. You could often find him at a local farm equipment auction or at Ted Everett's equipment sale; and most certainly out to breakfast in Bargersville or Waverly with his brother Stephen. Tim loved antique tractors and, until recently, was still acquiring the best deals he could find. He kept up faithfully with what antique plows, discs, and tractors were worth.
Tim loved practical joking and rowdy songs. He loved his family, and especially, his wife, Vicki, whom he always called "Peaches".
Rev. Steve Sorensen will conduct a celebration of Life for Tim on Saturday, March 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Friday, March 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Harris Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers may be sent to Providence Christian Church, 4080 W 100 North, Bargersville, Indiana 46106, in memory of Tim.
