ROOKS COUNTY RECORD; Rooks County, Kansas; Thursday, May 31, 1956:
"MRS. FRANCES BOUCHEY
Mrs. Frances Bouchey was born Sarah Frances Inman in Marion county Iowa, July 14, 1864 [sic-1861], and passed away at her home near Stockton, May 24, 1956, at the age of 91 [sic-94] years, 10 months, and 10 days.
In 1879 she moved to Cloud county, Kansas and later moved to Wabaunsee county. In 1915 she moved to Rooks county where she had since lived.
Children by her first marriage are Dick Grant of California, Roy Grant of Oklahoma City, Dan Grant of California, Charlie Grant of Colorado, and Mrs. Lulu Rogers of LeRoy, Kansas.
Children by her second marriage are Joe Bouchey, Stockton, and Mrs. Florence Kleper [sic-Klepper], Denver, Colorado.
Mrs. Bouchey joined the Methodist church at Zurich many years ago and later transferred to the Methodist church in Stockton.
She was a kind mother and friend. She will be missed by her many loved ones and acquaintances.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Smith Memorial chapel and burial was in the Zurich Protestant cemetery [aka Zurich Cemetery]. Rev. Glenn Palmer, pastor of the Stockton Methodist church was in charge of the service."

According to Smith Memorial Chapel records, Mrs. Bouchey's father was listed as Samuel Inman; her mother's name, Elizabeth (Forsyth) Inman, was not listed. On the 1870 Census, Samuel Inman, widowed, and his 8-year-old daughter, Sarah Inman, live in Liberty, Marion County, Iowa, with his older daughter and her husband, Nancy Ellen (Inman) and Thaddeus Godfrey. The 1870 Census was taken as of June 1st; consequently, Sarah had not yet celebrated her 1870 birthday when she would have turned 9. The death of her mother, Elizabeth, on 4 February 1863, Marion County, Iowa, is further evidence that Sarah Frances/Frances Sarah was not born in 1864. The fabricated birth year may have been occasioned by her marriage to the younger Medie Bouchey.

On May 16, 1880, Concordia, Cloud County, Kansas, Sarah Frances Inman married Daniel Grant. The couple had six children; Elmer W. Grant was born 28 December 1885 and died 22 January 1886, both in Concordia, Cloud County, Kansas. No burial was found for the infant. Sarah and Daniel were divorced by 1893.

On March 20, 1893, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, Frances Grant married Medie Bouchey; they were married until his death on August 20, 1937. The couple had two children, Joseph A. Bouchey and Florence A. (Bouchey) Klepper.
