Will of Mary Jane Rentzheimer Bachman, #20956 of Northampton County, dated 12 December, 1904:
"I, Mary J. Bachman, of Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made.
"I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved husband, Titus O. Bachman, all my estate, real and personal, of whatever kind or nature the same may be, during his natural life, and from and immediately after his decease. I give and devise the same unto my two children, Jacob and John, share and share alike, their heirs and assigns forever, provided nevertheless that should my husband re-marry, I hereby direct that all my property shall be sold and the proceeds divided within one year after such re-marriage. The real estate must be kept in good repair.
"And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said husband, Titus O. Bachman, sole executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I, Mary J. Bachman, the testator, have to this my will written on one page of legal ___ set my hand and seal this 12th day of December, 1904. ----signed Mary J. Bachman
"I, the undersigned Mary J. Bachman, do make and publish this codicil to my last will and testament, bearing date the 12th day of December, 1904, in manner following: Before the distribution of my estate as directed in my last will, I order and direct the following changes to be made by my executors hereinafter named.
"I give, devise, and bequeath to my daughter-in-law, Mary Bachman, wife of Jacob R. Bachman, her heirs and assigns, the lot of ground, situated on the northwest corner of Main and Walnut Streets in the Borough of Hellertown, provided however she pays to my son John R. Bachman, his heirs or assigns, the sum of five hundred ($500.00) in cash.
"I give, devise, and bequeath to my son, John R. Bachman, the old chest marked Catharine Hasin [probably her great- grandmother prior to marrying her great-grandfather] and the old woolen blanket on which is woven the name Elizabeth Ehrhart [her mother, or possibly her grandmother after she married her grandfather].
"I also order and direct that my clothes and the old silver be divided between my two daughters-in-law.
"Should the income from my estate be insufficient for the support of my husband, my executors hereinafter named are authorized to draw upon the principal.
"I further order and direct that the share of my son Jacob R. Bachman be held in trust by the E. P. Wilbur Trust Co., and the interest thereof paid to my son Jacob and his wife Mary, share and share alike, during the minority of their children, after their majority, all the interest to my son Jacob, and after the death of my son Jacob, the principal sum shall be paid to the children of my son Jacob, their heirs and assigns, share and share alike.
"No distribution of my estate shall be made until after the death of my husband, Titus O. Bachman, except as provided for in my original will. Should there be any uninvested money in bank at the time of my death, I order and direct that the same be invested in safe securities.
"Instead of my husband T. O. Bachman, I hereby appoint my son John R. Bachman and the E. P. Wilbur Trust Co., the executors of my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ___ day of February, A. D. 1915." ----signed Mary J. Bachman

She was born in Lower Saucon Township, September 5, 1853, a daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Rentzheimer. She married Titus O. Bachman in Lower Saucon Township, January 12, 1875, the late Rev. P. (sic--should read T.) O. Stem officiating. Besides her husband she leaves two sons, Jacob and John, Hellertown, and five grandchildren. Funeral, Tuesday, August 22. Service in Christ Union Church. Interment in Hellertown Union Cemetery."
